Club Vision Night Recap

Rush Pikes Peak Families,

First, we would like to thank all the people that were able to make it out to our Rush Vision Meeting last night. For those that were unable to attend we wanted to give you a short recap.

The idea of the meeting was to give our members an overview of the vision for the future of Rush Pikes Peak.We are excited about the future of the club and the prospect of where we are heading. We wanted to make sure we nipped in the bud the unfounded rumors that were out there too.

Rush Pikes Peak exists to provide Colorado Springs youth soccer players with an environment in which they can thrive. We will do this through the provision of a supportive but challenging environment that progressively develops soccer skills and solid character traits.

The Vision of the club was based on three ideals that are outlined below:People, Place and Pathway

People- We want to make sure we engage everyone in the vision and where we are heading. This includes the coaches, the players, the parents and volunteers.

a)Coaches- We want to ensure that all the coaches are on the same page with the style of play, communication and philosophy. This includes that the coaches ensure that there is a safe environment, the players are having fun and the players are developing.

b)Players- We want all our players to have the integrity on and off the field, an ethic of hard work, a competitive desire, whilst having fun and the want to get better.

c)Parents- We are very grateful for the parents time, finances and support of the players and the club. The club will strive to ensure that we are consistent with our communication and our requests to allow the families to have a consistent schedule without surprises.

d)Volunteers- They are an integral part of the club, especially on the younger age groups, and as a club, we endeavor to support them as much as possible and appreciate their time and work.

As a club, we will ensure that the vision is clear so all our Rush "people" have something to buy into and get behind.Everything, that we do is based around the Rush Core Values. Respect, Passion, Tenacity and Unity is a basis of the 11 values that we have.

Place-A safe and secure environment that facilitates learning, development and progression.

a)Office- We are excited to announce the location of our new office 5865 Lehman Dr, Colorado Springs. We will be moving into our new space on May 15th. With the change of landscape of the soccer administration, the need for a large office is now not a necessity and so our contract was not renewed and we are excited to be moving next week.

b)Fields- We are also continuing to work hard on Resnik. We have met with the landscapers and we have some solutions to get the grass back.It has come to our attention we made some errors in the cutting of the grass too short in the fall and so it burnt and this is the reason it has taken so long to come back.We have professional help to assist us with the regeneration and we are excited to make Resnik a place we can call home.

Pathway -The landscape of youth sports is constantly adjusting and as an organization we want to continually be ahead of the curve.Rush is one of the biggest youth soccer clubs in the world and Rush can provide a pathway from the youngest 3-year-old player to the professional ranks with Penn FC.

Rush Pikes Peak is committed to providing a long-term player development path; a supportive environment in which individual players are challenged. A Rush player is defined as not just an athlete who wins medals, but as someone who possesses solid character traits defined within our Rush Core Values. This is the Rush Way!

Rush Pikes Peak has established the following aims to guide the development of its programs:

  • Provide a long-term player centered approach to development.
  • Produce an environment to allow the production of technically excellent, innovative players who possess exceptional decision-making skills.
  • Establish what excellence is; find the balance between winning and developing excellence.
  • To train, develop, qualify and support innovative teachers of the game. Coaches who clearly understand, and meet the
  • needs of the players.
  • To include parents in the long-term playerdevelopment process.

Thank you very much for your continued support. We hope you share in the excitement we have for the future of our club.

Good luck to all teams for the rest of their games this spring.
